re the NSW Farmers' Association "Educating our children about food & fibre production" brochure:

"I had a brief talk to CEO last week and suggested need for stand alone course as well as the embedding aspects of ag across the curriculum. I also reminded him of need for exposure in early high school and availability in middle high school as students more likely to continue agricultural studies in late high school." Graeme Harris

Subject: Place of Agriculture in the Australian Curriculum

Hi Aggies

Over the last few weeks we have been looking at the place of Agriculture in the Australian Curriculum.

Rob Randall (General Manager of ACAR) has indicated that there is a window of opportunity to push for Agriculture to be included in the Australian Curriculum.

He needs for us to present him with an argument as to why it should be included.

Sally Bannerman has summarised a number of points of view put forward by some of our members and members of the Primary Industries Education Foundation.

Have a look at it (the summarised points) and make comment so that I can put forward an argument from the Agriculture Teachers.

Regards
Phil Hurst
